BAKED BEANS


Ingredients:
  • 8 slices bacon, halved
  • 1 medium onion, cut into small dice
  • 1/2 medium green pepper, cut into small dice
  • 3 large cans (28 ounces each= 84oz) pork and beans
  • 3/4 cup Ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup distilled or cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard or 2 tablespoons Dijon

How to Make It:
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. 
  2. Layer 13x9in ovenproof pan with Bacon.
  3. Pour beans into a bowl.
  4. Add onions and peppers, Ketchup, Brown Sugar, Vinegar and Mustard.
  5. Stir until blended.
  6. Pour flavored beans into pan over bacon. 
  7. Bake until beans are bubbly and sauce is the consistency of pancake syrup, approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours. 
  8. Let stand to thicken slightly and serve.
